As we all know, Mrs Eyles was a Year 6 teacher for the last 3 years. Unfortunately, this year Mrs Eyles had to teach Year 4. Then at the end of Term 3, she had to leave to give birth to a beautiful baby named Jordan. Then on the 20th of November, Mrs Eyles came back to give us a visit! Nearly everyone from Year 4 and 6 came to see this beautiful baby boy!

Every year, year 6 holds a farewell at the end of the year. A main part of having a perfect farewell is the theme of it, so this year, year 6 has voted to have a Hollywood/Movie themed farewell. Our farewell will be held on the 15th of December. If you have any questions, you can ask Mrs O'brien or a member of the Farewell Committee.
Who cooks delicious foods and treats us with their one of a kind snacks? Who knows more than we know and tell us stories of the past? Our grandparents! They are wise wonderful people who care. Though strict, they taught us our manners and they help keep traditions. It was time for us to say thank you and we did that by hosting the best, extraordinary Grandparent Day! As you know Year 6 has a Twitter account that is based on what is happening in Year 6. This account will give you updates and news about what is happening around the school as well. Our Twitter handle is @Yr6CWPS Here is the link to the Year 6 Twitter account:
On 3rd November, C.W.P.S organised an All Star Carnival at our school. Our carnival theme was all star and sports, we were so fortune to have talented sporting people to come to our school and take part in our carnival. We had a huge variety of rides that we could take part in, such as the Iron Man Challenge, Super Slide and many more. Apart from the rides we had food stalls, face painting, lucky dips, show bags, competition and sporting activities. Our school has also invited the local Fire Brigade, local Police and NSW Cricket Team. On 19th of May to the 21st of May the Student Leadership Team travelled to Berry Sports and Rec centre for 3 days and 2 nights. In these days the SLT presented their SCHOOL ACTION PLAN that they worked hard on in school time. At the camp they got the chance to collaborate with other schools and build up the skills that they need to be a leader. They had difficult challenges to undertake like using their problem solving to build a raft and also teamwork and confidence to speak up and share their ideas and work as a team to build a successful raft. A create task is special free and express themselves through artistic forms. In our last create task for term 1 and 2, the students were assigned to put together something that represents who they are. A few students played the keyboard while others choreographed a dance. There were some people who made a model of a building that they designed or wrote a innovative book. Architects, dancers, musicians, authors and clever artists hide among the original year six. But the inventive ideas didn't stop there. Term 3 began a whole new create which includes plain white t-shirts and the creative minds of grade six students. They were asked to adapt, change and transform a t-shirt which represent them. Using the gift of modern technology, students carefully dyed, painted and cut their shirts into their personality. On the 16th of September, Year 6 attended an excursion to Sydney Trapeze School at St Peters. We walked along a beautifull graffiti wall and managed to take a picture as well! Once we arrived, the atmosphere instantly changed! It was filled with nervous but really excited feelings. Year 6 got to do some fun activities like trapeze, juggling and balancing. We were able to learn many new skills and it was such a memorable experience to remember. We asked some year 6 students about their experiences. Below is the website for Sydney Trapeze School: We need some fun at lunch. Maybe a hint of art or video gaming or something that could help us make tons of new friends! The new SLT ( Student Leading Team ) of 2015 have worked hard in organising and preparing enjoyable clubs for all students across K-6. They've even got other teachers to help host a unique, exciting club with different subjects to suit all students preferences. Marked with colourful balloons we had arts and crafts as well as dance battles. Board games and technology. Outdoor play club, drama clubs and a whole ton more. Each week had something new. Lunch became jam packed with activities. The SLT is proud to say: "The lunchtime clubs were a huge success!" |
